Trifal Ayurvedic Digestive Support Formula 90 tablets $21.95

Ayurvedic Formula Promotes Regularity
This ancient Ayurvedic formula, known in India as Triphala, has been revered as a digestive system tonic and rejuvenative to promote regularity without irritation. The combination of Indian fruits seems to have synergistic effects, and, unlike other laxatives, Trifal is mild, promoting regularity without irritating the bowels. Those who use Trifal report a natural regularity, as opposed to the forced bowel evacuation that may be experienced with other laxative foods.

The recipe for this traditional herbal supplement dates back 5,000 years and is referenced in the traditional Indian texts Charak and Sushrut Samhita. Trifal is considered a Rasayan, having restorative and balancing effects on the three constitutional elements that govern human life: Vat regulates the nervous system and controls processes, Pit maintains metabolic processes, and Kaph supports structural integrity.

Trifal contains the fruit extracts of three plants. When the extract is fermented it is termed "Myrobalan".

Myrobalan Haritaki (Terminalia chebula): Haritaki is a 50 to 80 foot tall tree that grows at various altitudes. The fruit, traditionally picked in the spring, is a rich source of tannins, amino acids, fructose, succinic acid and Beta Sitosterol. Haritaki balances the vat.

Bahera (Terminalia bellerica): Bahera is a 60 to 80 foot tall tree widely distributed in Indian foothills. The fruit, collected in late winter, is used to balance the Kaph.

Amla (Embelica officinalis, or Indian Gooseberry): Amla is a 20 to 25 foot tall tree found throughout Inida. The amla fruit, known as the Indian Gooseberry, is a source of antioxidants, flavonoids, carotenoids, and is on one of the richest known natural sources of Vitamin C - in equal amounts, Amla has 20 times more Vitamin C than oranges. Traditionally Amla is used to optimize Pit. From Ayush Herbs.

INGREDIENTS: Standardized herbal fruit extracts of Beleric myrobalan, Chebulic myrobalan and Indian Gooseberry.

DIRECTIONS: One to three capsules after a meal as a dietary supplement, or as directed by your health practitioner.
